Learn As You Go

As mentioned in my intro blurb, I decided to begin this blog because my goal this school year is to have my students blog. I figured I should probably learn more about it and how it works before implementing it into my classroom.
I have to admit though, I was a little hesitant because, in my opinion, it seems like there is a lot of competition out there when it comes to the Internet - Pinterest, Facebook, blogging, etc. I don't know about you, but there have been plenty times when I felt very inadequate as a mother or a teacher after reading some blogs. I would love to try some ideas found on blogs and Pinterest, but I can't help but wonder if the blogger sleeps! How do these people have time to organize their Christmas ornaments with toilet paper rolls and freeze meals for the month when I barely have time to pee by myself?!
I've gotten very caught up in some blogs...addicted almost. I'm nervous no one will read my blog or be able to relate to me or my thoughts. Fortunately, I haven't had many tragedies in my life where I would want to dedicate my blog to a lost loved one. I do not enjoy cooking, nor am I good at it, so It wouldn't make sense to blog about recipes. On the other hand, I LOVE food, so you can expect to read about that in my blog. I do love to teach and spend time with my family so I'll be blogging plenty about those topics.
I'll conclude my first post with the reasoning behind the title of my blog, "Learn As You Go." I love to learn. I love to ask questions. I loved school, so why not continue going to school and become a teacher? As a teacher, I don't just learn something new every day, I learn LOTS of somethings new on a daily basis. School days are kind of like finger prints, not one school day is identical. I learn from my colleagues, my students, and myself constantly. When the school day ends and I switch hats from teacher to mother, I continue to learn. I learn strength. I learn how to pick up a blanket with my toes when a baby is in my arms. I learn unconditional love. I look forward to sharing more things I've learned in life with you, as well as things you've learned throughout this crazy, beautiful journey we call life.
